Episode 9: Going Sky High

Time to soar sky high and reach for the stars! Selected students had an exciting opportunity learning how to paraglide and take their very own first flight!
For the students who won this prize due to great leadership at the camp, the morning was quite intense, filled with lots of instruction. Students learned how to get the wing off the ground and how to control it.
There is so much to think about while paragliding! One has to consider the wind, the weight, and how to appropriately adjust the wing. This is one of the many activities where the students not only use technical skills, but also some of the leadership skills they have learned so far. Prioritising is super important while paragliding; and it’s a good thing that everyone knows to always be asking if what they need to do is important and urgent!
After much practice and training, the students took their first steps from the hillsides into the air! Paragliding is not just about calmly flying over the hills though. Because the winds were right and the students were brave, they even did some tricks and aerobatics!
